22nd August 2009
Kite surfing: Golf Club carpark Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 15-25 knots Surf / Sea State: small waves Air Temperature: 20C Sea Temperature: warm Weather: bright & sunny Max Speed: 25 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: miles
I don't often post in the session diaries but today was special.
Woke to thunder, lightning and torrential rain.By mid morning the sun was
out and the wind in the 15-20 knot region. Went out on the 13m and had a
great session blasting from the estuary to Borth in one tack (legs hurt
after that), popping huge floaty jumps of the waves.
By lunchtime the 13m got a bit of a handful so after a coffee I went out on
the 11m. Fantastic fun like the morning only slipped in a cheeky kiteloop
or two for good measure. (in DEEP water mind - Col please note - Col who is
languishing in an Egyptian hospital after crashing a loop in SHALLOW
water!!) (get well soon mate)
Finally by teatime I could kite no more so retired to the beach for a
couple of beers and a steaming hot curry.
WHAT A DAY!!
On a day like this there is simply no better place to be :)
